I love browsing and discovering work by other designers. What typically draws me is the more exploratory work. On a day to day basis, I’m chasing product market fit - it’s refreshing to look at designs that are not boxed into impact goals. I had these in my notes for years, and would often revisit them for inspiration. Here you go:
Histography by Matan Stauber: Taking data sets and transforming into fun viz.
Smart mirror by Max Braun: I still remember getting that medium post notification and being super inspired by Max’s prototype of smart mirror.
180 websites in 180 days: Still such a gold. When I’m just simmering around and need that Just Fruiting do It (JFDI) push - I head here to Jennifer’s work!
Auto draw by Google: In the territory that fascinates me - what will designers jobs look like in the AI/ML world? As product designers, I would say it’s our responsibility to humanize the craziness behind models that’ll take over our lives.
Creative Math: Growing up a math nerd, this is a full on dream. The creative empowerment of intertwining art and math is amazing!
New car UI by Matthaeus: A fun concept exploration of car UI controls using gestures. Something to ponder over - what would extending this for accessibility look like?
Social distance: Series of experiments to bring humanity closer together virtually.
Data sketches: This joint effort by Nadieh and Shirley is so intriguing. Shirley and Nadieh, choose topics over a 12 month timeframe and come up with data viz to represent the subject matter in that topic. Two creative minds, two explorations, one topic!
